Leah has been a color/haircut client of mine since I moved here year's ago. We have gone from a very short sassy haircut to growing it all out for her wedding. We might have had a little help with some clip-in hair extension's.
I was so excited when I heard she was engaged! She called me right away and said "I'm booking you before any other vendor's" and I also want you to be at my wedding! Love this girl!!!
She had her wedding at theO Street Mansion in DC, such a eclectic place. They have hidden passageway's and room's to explore in the mansion as well as vintage stuff that you can actually purchase. Each room has a theme, it's just a really cool place, if you haven't seen it, go tour it!
We decided on 2 hairstyle's for Leah since, you know I was there and all. For the 2nd hairstyle, I had an idea to clip off these flower's I had on a headband. They matched her Anthropologie dress perfectly! I hope to have some more photo's soon, but for now, check out below…..
Her 2nd Hairstyle and flower's we added.
My handsome hubby and I at Leah's beautiful wedding.

I love when I get to see these gal's again for either their own wedding's or wedding's they are in, so fun!
I took some pics of the ladies I did last weekend and most of them turned out blurry :( that's what you get when you take pic's on your I-phone.
Here are a few that turned out of the bride and bridesmaid below. They all were so stunning and I have worked with the bride as well as some of the maid's before and looking forward to working with another at her upcoming Fall wedding, such sweet gal's! I'm excited to get the professional pics back from the photographer.
Here is a pic of a trial I just did! Theresa was a bridesmaid in a previous wedding I did as well. Beautiful hair, beautiful girl! I loved that she brought me 2 photo's (from the blog) and said she liked thing's about both, so we just mixed them together. Looking forward to working with her again for her big day in September!
1. Bon Jovi - Livin' on a Prayer Bon Jovi are an American rock band from Sayreville, New Jersey, that formed in 1983. In late 1986, they released their hit single "Livin' on a Prayer". This was in and around the same time as that the Iran–Contra affair became public.
2. Def Leppard - Pour Some Sugar On Me Def Leppard are a rock band from Sheffield, England. Formed in 1977, the group released their single "Pour Some Sugar On Me" in 1987 (UK) and 1988 (US).
3. Duran Duran - Hungry Like the Wolf Duran Duran are an English band that formed back in 1978. In 1982, they released their single "Hungry Like the Wolf":
4. Michael Jackson - Billie Jean Pop legend Michael Jackson, who died in June, 2009, released one of the most memorable singles of the 80s in the form of "Billie Jean". The song instantly achieved worldwide commercial and critical success:
5. Prince - When Doves Cry Prince began his music career back in 1976. On May the 16th, 1984, he released his single "When Doves Cry", which was the first single from his album "Purple Rain". According to a number of source, it was the top selling single of the year. Note that Prince doesn't want his songs on Youtube, so the video below might be taken down after this is posted. Apparently, Prince thinks that the Internet is just a fad that will blow over:
It's fair to say that anyone who lived through the 80s or 90s will remember the character "Ernest P. Worrell", who was played by actor Jim Varney.
Varney began acting as Ernest back in 1980, when he did a TV commercial for an upcoming appearance of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders at an amusement park in Kentucky. From there on in, he stuck with the character, starring in several TV commercials throughout the 80s and early 90s. Here he is in an 1983 commercial for Country Fresh Milk:
The character was so popular that Varney was eventually given his own children's TV show called "Hey Vern, It's Ernest!", which first aired back in 1988. Unfortunately, the show was short-lived and only lasted for one season:
In 1987, "Ernest Goes To Camp" was released. In this, Ernest faced juvenile delinquents and an evil mining corporation that wanted to destroy the camp.
Several other Ernest movies were also released throughout the 1980s and 1990s:
Ernest Saves Christmas - 1988
Ernest Goes to Jail - 1990
Ernest Scared Stupid - 1991
Ernest Rides Again - 1993
Ernest Goes to School - 1994
Ernest Goes to Africa - 1997
Ernest in the Army - 1998
Tragically, Jim Varney passed away in February, 2000, after battling lung cancer for two years. Here's some footage from Ernest Saves Christmas:
"Terminator 2: Judgment Day" was released for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive and the SNES back in 1993. This was the same year that saw the release of Jurassic Park and Mrs. Doubtfire.
Based on a 1991 film of the same name, Terminator 2: Judgement Day allowed you to take control of a T-800 that is sent back in time in order to protect John and Sarah Connor from the liquid-metal T-1000 that is trying to hunt them down.
When the game starts off, you land in the parking lot of a diner. From there on in, you're forced to blast your way through bikers, cops and the T-1000, which appears at random intervals throughout the game. You also get to drive a motorbike from one place to the next; something that I thought was pretty cool at the time.
From Level 3 onward, you're tasked with the protection of John and Sarah Connor. If either of their health levels drop, you must kneel down beside them and sacrifice some of your own. Sarah helps you throughout the game by shooting at enemies.
Here's a play-through of the game, complete with the memorable background music:
In 1993, toy company Hasbro relaunched the "Action Man" toy series. The original Action Man figures had been produced between 1966 and 1984 (and will be covered in a later post).
I remember that one of the figures had body camouflage that would appear whenever it was exposed to strong sunlight. I also remember the evil arch nemesis DR X, who looked ridiculous with his colorful purple pants:
DR X was an evil scientist (and leader of "The Council of Doom") that sought world domination. He was one of the first villains to be introduced in the 1990s series.
If you remember: Some of the Action Man figures had rubber legs (with no bending knees), whereas others were made out of solid plastic, allowing for knees and elbows.
I remember having the Action Man above. He had a plastic blue armoured vest that could be taken off and two guns that fired rockets from his hips.
In 2009, Hasbro reintroduced the series by selling a new wave of figures in Tesco stores around the UK. Eventually, production was halted again, presumably because there isn't as much interest in the series anymore.
